The long-rumored Cingular 8525 has finally gotten an official announcement. Built by HTC (codename Hermes) and branded for Cingular, the 8525 is an update to the popular Cingular 8125.

The update adds 3G connectivity and boosts several of the other features. The 8525 is a feature packed device:

• Quad-band GSM / HSDPA 3G / EDGE
• Bluetooth with stereo A2DP support
• Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
• Windows Mobile 5.0
• 128MB memory built-in plus microSD slot
• 2-megapixel camera
• QVGA display with 65K colors

Cingular will begin shipping the 8525 on November 16th. With a contract pricing is expected to be $399.99.
