Seagate Introduces Portable Drive For Phones

January 31st, 2007 · Source · No Comments

Seagate today announced a new portable hard drive platform designed to provide additional storage for mobile phones. DAVE is slightly smaller than a RAZR and features a 10 or 20 GB hard drive, a USB port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Seagate has created applications to wirelessly connect to the hard drive from Java, BREW, Windows Mobile and Symbian phones. Users could backup media from the phone to the drive, or pre-load the drive with movies and music to transfer to the phone for playback. The tiny drive should last for about 10 hours of use or 14 days of standby between charges. The 10 GB version will be available this summer for about $150.
