Alltel today announced that a new roaming agreement will allow its data card subscribers to get online in major cities around the US when traveling outside Alltel’s coverage area. There are no additional roaming charges for subscribers on an unlimited plan, which runs $60 per month. The regional carrier already had data roaming agreements in place for handsets. Alltel has also been beefing up its EV-DO coverage on its own network. It extended coverage in half of its markets last year and continues to build out coverage.
