Today with services like Skype and almost every webcam available, you can have video calls at will. A company called Unidata has announced what it claims to be the world’s first Wi-Fi Video Conference phone. Scant details were released about the handset, but what we do know is that the phone will use a 2.8-inch touch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320.
The handset supports 802.11a 5GHz and 802.11b/g 2.4GHz networks. Many newer routers support networks using both those frequencies. Other features include 30 fps video recording and playback, conference call capability, mp3/mp4 playback and an XHTML browser. The device can support up to three hours of video calling and six hours of voice calling. Pricing and availability are unknown.
