Today Sony Ericsson announced a new fashion phone with professional tennis player Maria Sharapova. The T707 clamshell lights up when calls or messages are received, and the colors can be customized to represent specific callers. It also lets users silence calls or the alarm by waving their hand over the phone through the use of proximity sensors. It has themes that will automatically change depending on the time of day. The T707a (for North America) has quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA. It also features a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and video capture, stereo Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS, YouTube, GPS and support for memory cards. It will be available in select markets starting in the second quarter.
