Today Sony Ericsson announced the Aino, a new phone and media device that can connect with Sony’s Playstation 3 gaming and media console. It will be able to interact with and control the media content on the user’s Playstation 3 via a local Wi-Fi network or via the Internet. It will also offer the ability to watch TV in several European countries. It has a full HTML web browser, keypad and touch screen user interface. The Aino has quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100, Bluetooth (A2DP), GPS, Wi-Fi and FM radios on board. It will come with an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, video capture, image/video stabilizer and Face Detection. Other features include video calling, Microsoft ActiveSync, stereo speakers and Facebook integration. It will be available early in the fourth quarter.
