UK network operator 3 have released images, and technical specifications for their new Skypephone – the S2, and, by the looks of it, it won’t be all that much more expensive than the current one. Although, you won’t get a choice of colour this time around – only black will be available – initially at least. 3 say it will retail for under £70 on a non-contract (Pay As You Go) – the current Skypephone retails for £49.99, so it’s safe to presume the new one will retail for £69.99, or thereabouts. It will be available from August 18th.

The technical specifications are as follows:

• Memory: 50MB internal, with MicroSD slot, up to 4GB supported
• Extras: Modem drivers built-in, allowing the S2 to be used as dongle on a Windows PC or Apple Mac
