Yesterday, Eastman Kodak President Antonio Perez announced that it is developing new 5-megapixel CMOS sensors for digital cameras. The new sensors will also be able to fit into mobile phones, and Perez stated that Kodak will develop a camera phone jointly with Motorola. The two companies first announced plans to work together in January 2006. This new information shows that they have made progress. Motorola and Kodak are planning to have the camera phone ready near the end of the year.
