Research In Motion announced its Q1 results for fiscal 2007. The popularity of Blackberry increased, with both revenue and profits increased. Key metrics from the release:

• There are now 5.5 million blackberry subscribers (680k additions in the quarter)
• RIM shipped 1.2 million devices in the quarter
• Revenue hit $613.1 million, net income $129.8 million

Rumors started circulating that RIM was interested in buying Palm, but there doesn’t seem to be any serious base to them.
