More details about the BlackBerry 8700 have turned up. So far the rumors point to a 2005 launch for the 8700, which should be announced sometime in October.

Spec wise, here’s how the 8700 stacks up:

• 320 × 240 screen
• Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
• Bluetooth 2.0
• 16MB RAM / 64MB Flash
• Thinner and Narrower than 7200 series

Yesterday there was news that RIM signed a deal with Intel to use the “Hermon” processor for upcoming EDGE-enabled BlackBerry handsets. However it’s not known if the CPU in the 8700 will be from Intel.
