Today AOL and Research In Motion announced that AOL’s AIM instant messenger program will now be available on all BlackBerry models. The native AIM app will allow users to send and view photos on the phones as well as many other desktop IM functions. BlackBerries will also add ICQ and AOL Mail compatibility. The AOL Mail will receive the same treatment as other email services and will be pushed to users’ BlackBerry devices just as corporate email would. The software is free, but requires OS firmare 4.5. It is available in the U.S., and will become available to other countries in the coming months.
