Gannett today announced a minority investment in 4INFO, a mobile search company that we profiled last year. Gannett is the largest newspaper group in the US with a combined daily circulation of 7.6 million.

Thanks to the investment, 4INFO will be promoted again inside of USA Today. The Sports, Weather and Finance sections will all feature promos for 4INFO’s shortcode, 44636.

Financial terms of the deal were not announced, but the distribution agreement is for three years.
