It’s no secret that AT&T Wireless is being sold. Vodafone is said to be mulling a bid. However, a new rumor today has Vodafone taking over US wireless leader Verizon Wireless, a company that it already owns a large stake in.

The piece which was published in today’s Wall Street Journal also states that the proposed take over would be hostile, as Verizon Wireless is not on the auction block. The Wall Street Journal is normally accurate with these matters.
