Today Sony Pictures announced that its mobile movie channel, PIX, is one of the two AT&T-exclusive channels being offered for subscribers to view on their phones. PIX will run nothing but movies, as opposed to the other channels’ standard TV content. Sony will show movies on PIX for a month, and plans to regularly rotate the selection of films. The movies will not be available in an on-demand format, rather, they will run linearly as do the standard TV channels, with defined start and end times. Pricing for AT&T’s Mobile TV service, which launches in May, has not been announced.
