AT&T To Offer Wireless Downloads From Napster

October 22nd, 2007 · Source [Reuters] · No Comments

AT&T announced today it will begin offering over the air downloads of Napster’s entire song catalog in mid-November. Subscribers will be able to buy a bundle of 5 songs for $7.50 or pay $1.99 for individual tracks. AT&T has a similar agreement with eMusic. Although this is twice the cost of downloads on the iPhone or from competitors like Sprint, AT&T believes that young music fans will pay the premium. AT&T did not specify which phones will be compatible with this download service or if it is only limited to 3G coverage.
