AT&T increased its spectrum holdings today by purchasing $2.5 billion worth, covering 72 of the top 100 markets, from Aloha Partners. The added spectrum blankets 196 million people and will help AT&T meet future demand for wireless services. Aloha owns HiWire, which is trialling mobile TV services in Las Vegas. There was no word if the spectrum sale will effect HiWire’s operations.
