AT&T has replaced a 2000 square foot Cingular store in Houston with a new “Experience Store” more than twice its size. The new 5000 square foot space is the first of 11 new stores that will bring together all of AT&T’s services, both wireless and wireline. Instead of dividing the store up by service or by handset cost as most carriers do, the store will be divided by function - video, gaming, music, messaging and other uses will each have their own separate area. In addition the store will have a customization center to add ringtones and screens to phones as well as decorate them with stickers and crystals. AT&T will open up Experience stores in San Antonio and Atlanta before expanding to other regions.
