AT&T has completed its purchase of Dobson Communications and will begin transitioning the former Cellular One network to AT&T next month. Merging the two networks will extend AT&T’s home network in many rural areas. However AT&T was forced to give up 6 rural markets in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas in order to complete the sale. On December 9 most Dobson stores will offer AT&T handsets and rate plans, but current Dobson Cellular One subscribers will be able to keep their current rate plans and service.
