Nokia introduced a new music store that will compete with iTunes and other online and over-the-air music services, with a Wireless LAN or 3G connection, right on your device. The Nokia Music Store is will allow users to download tracks over the air directly to select handsets, or via PC and sync to handsets later.
Nokia Music Store is available on your compatible PC or on Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8GB multimedia computers. Users will be able to browse artists, songs, or albums, create custom playlists and add tunes to your shared wishlist to buy later, as well as get recommendations on new artists. Tracks will cost 1 Euro and albums 10 Euros, with a streaming option also for 10 Euros. The tracks will be sold as DRM-protected WMA files ripped at 192 kbps. The Nokia Music Store will launch in certain European markets in the fall, and other countries in Europe and Asia later this year.
