Apple has announced the iPhone will have longer battery than initially expected, with talk time increased to 8 hours and media playback times enhanced as well. The company also announced the front surface has been upgraded to a durable, scratch-proof glass, similar to what Motorola uses on several of its flagship phones. Today Apple announced the phone will launch with a new YouTube application as well, furthering its ties to Google. Over 10,000 videos will be available in H.264 format for playback on the iPhone (as well as Apple TV) at launch, and Apple claims every YouTube video will be available from the application by year’s end.
