Apple files gesture-based text editing patent

Apple have filed a patent, which is called Swipe Gestures for Touch Screen Keyboards. The patent shows the use of swipe gestures, to give users quick ways to accomplish something. This is achieved, by, as you can see below, swiping you fingers. For instance, swiping your finger to your right would accomplish a backspace, and, to your right, a push of the spacebar would occur.

Swiping downward would accomplish an Enter/Return gesture, and so on. Not only is swiping via one finger on the cards, but, multitouch - two, and even three fingers is, as well, to allow for even more gestures. Should this become a reality, it would make texting on the iPhone more intuitive.
