In a statement yesterday, Apple confirmed that the iPhone is on track to launch in late June. When it was announced in January, both Apple and Cingular were firm about a June launch, but neither company specifically pointed to the end of the month. In order to meet the June deadline, Apple has said it had to pull engineers who were working OS X 10.5 (Leopard) onto the project, delaying the release of the new OS until October.
