CES 2006 - Verizon Wireless announced this morning that it will begin carrying the UTStarcom XV6700. It’s the first Windows Mobile 5.0 device for Verizon Wireless, though Sprint Nextel already launched the device late last year.

Features of the XV6700 include:

• EV-DO
• 64MB RAM / 128MB ROM
• MiniSD card slot
• Bluetooth
• WiFi
• QVGA screen
• Slide out QWERTY keyboard
• 416MHz Intel CPU

The XV6700 is available today to enterprise customers through Verizon Wireless’ business sales channels. It will be available at retail on January 19 for $299.99 after $100 rebate with 2-year contract.
