Sprint today announced that it will become the first US carrier to do software upgrades of its mobile phones over its wireless network. Customers will receive a text message after a download has occurred, directing them to simply press a button to approve the update. The following phones are compatible with the updates:

• Samsung VI660
• Samsung VM-A680
• Samsung MM-A700
• Samsung PM-A740
• Samsung RL-A760
• Sanyo MM-7400
• LG PM-325

Updates will be available at different times for each handset.
