Genius move by stumbling cellphone giant Motorola: why push out millions of drab, feature-lite handsets and claw in money dollar by meagre dollar, when you can knock up a few diamond-clad Bluetooth headsets and sell them for $17k a-piece. The MOTOPURE H12 is a basic Bluetooth headset that’s taken into the realms of ridiculous price-tags by virtue of the 18 carat gold casing and 184 diamonds totalling 3.47ct; it’ll hit Korea with a sticker price of 16,100,000 South Korean won ($17,034).

If you’re poor (relatively speaking, of course) then there’s a version with 246 smaller diamonds (totalling 1.6ct) that’s priced at 7,400,000 South Korean won ($7,829). Though obviously you’d have to cope with the shame of friends & family knowing you’re a cheapskate.

The MOTOPURE H12 can be had in normal or white gold, with a choice of white, pink or black diamonds.
