Intelligent Mechatronic Systems introduced an innovative sounding product today called iLane. The Bluetooth device is intended to be installed in a vehicle and interfaces with a wireless email equipped phone and a speaker (either the vechicles audio system or a headset). iLane automatically notifies drivers of new messages and can read the full text, forward, or compose a response.

Besides email, iLane can also handle SMS and phone calls. It differs from a usual hands-free because of the voice technology that requires no physical input.

iLane is not currently available for one-off sales, but the company is in discussions with partners to get the device to consumers.
