3GSM World Congress — Research In Motion has announced the BlackBerry 8800. The 8800 combines styling first seen on the popular BlackBerry Pearl with the more conventional designs of previous business-targeted QWERTY BlackBerry handsets.
- Quad-band GSM/EDGE
- Bluetooth
- QVGA display
- microSD memory card slot
- Built-in GPS
- BlackBerry push email support
- Trackball navigation (like the Pearl)
RIM hopes to begin shipping the BlackBerry 8800 to various carriers later this month. In the US it will debut first with AT&T/Cingular. AT&T will begin selling the 8800 on February 21st for $299.99 with a 2-year contract.
