3GSM 2006 – The BenQ EF51 looks at first glance like a music player (it has a certain Creative Zen Micro vibe), but in reality it’s both a mobile phone and a music player. Technically called the BenQ-Siemens EF51, it’s a highly music-oriented device that ups the ante for music phones.
Feature wise the BenQ EF51 sports:
- 128 x 128 pixel screen with 262K colors
- Music player with support for MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+
- Innovative voice control function for music player (speak the name of a track to play it)
- miniSD card slot
- Stereo Bluetooth support
- 1.3 megapixel camera
The BenQ EF51 should start shipping in the second quarter in both black and white color schemes. Prices will vary by local.
BenQ also announced a HSDPA compatible handset called the EF91.
