Adding to is Walkman lineup, Sony Ericsson introduced the W980 at Mobile World Congress. It is a quad-band GSM/EDGE flip phone, with support for European 3G networks. The W980 has all of Sony Ericsson’s music features, such as SensMe, TrackID, PlayNow, FM radio with RDS, FM transmitter with RDS broadcasting, and Shake Control. Unlike most phones with FM radio, the W980 has a built-in FM antenna, so it can be used without plugging in a wired headset. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-rotate and blogging tools. The microSD slot supports up to 8GB, and it has stereo Bluetooth. External controls morph and allow music control, while a unique glass top edge lights up and can be set to pulse in sync with music. The W980 goes on sale in the third quarter of 2008.
