Nokia intros 18K plated 8800 Gold Arte handset

December 23rd, 2008 · Source [Electronista] · No Comments

Nokia 8800 Gold ArteNokia has announced yet another variation of its 8800 slider phone, the Gold Arte. As the name implies, the handset is plated in 18K gold with white leather covering it where the gold plating isn’t. The tri-band GSM handset has support for the WCDMA 2,100MHz band for 3G data. Users can browse the web using Opera Mini on the 2.0-inch OLED display with 240×320 resolution. Photos and video can be captured by a 3.2-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. The handset sports 4GB of internal storage, a marked improvement over the standard 8800’s 128MB and on par with other Arte-edition handsets. Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR support allows users to pair up the Gold Arte with compatible headsets.

Neither pricing nor release information has been released, but if Nokia’s last special edition 8800, the $1,649 Carbon Arte is any indication, it will be high.
