Motorola unveiled a new chip design that will support 3G and 4G mobile devices. The modem is designed to comply with WiMax 802.16e Wave 1.0 and 2.0, and uses MIMO matrix A and B antenna configurations. The modem can provide voice and data communications at broadband speeds, and is more power efficient than current 3G chips. It can be used in devices such as mobile phones and will work on Sprint’s forthcoming XOHM WiMax network.
